
The Showcase for Sustainability includes, amongst its specific objectives, that of showcasing the good sustainable practices that it collects. Since the launch of the project this aim has been pursued through a series of initiatives. The principal initiatives are: the Communication Plan, the result of a participatory process carried out in 2005 involving the participants in the Showcase, to identify the communication priorities relating to the project; the Emilia-Romagna Environment Award, in 2004 dedicated entirely to the participants in the Showcase projects; the Showcase at Ecomondo 2006 where a physical version of the Showcase was constructed to exhibit 96 good practices realised by businesses and organisations, host 22 events (awards, presentations, debates etc.) and 8 workshops with the participation of 30 schools and 400 students on each of the 4 days of the fair; Brenda the Agenda 2007 ¿ a sort of “yellow pages for sustainability”, part book and part diary; the Report on the citizens’ perception of the environment and territory ¿ an elaboration of the data collected at Ecomondo 2008 from the visitors by means of the compilation of a questionnaire-postcard regarding their perception of the environment and territory, the main problems perceived and their willingness to commit to sustainable development; the Showcase at Ecomondo 2008 where visitors could discover the latest solutions for sustainable mobility, tourism and the use of energy and resources through a series of games and events carried out in collaboration with the businesses that have adhered to the Showcase.
